✔Buddha gave the First Sermon at Sarnath in 11th century in a deer forest at Sarnath, north of Bodhgaya, where he had experienced enlightenment some weeks prior.

✔His real name was Siddharth.

Gautama Buddha, known by his other names Siddhattha Gotama or Siddhartha Gautama or Buddha Shakyamuni.

✔He is regarded as the founder of the world religion of Buddhism.

✔Gautama was born in Lumbini  (c. 563 BCE), now in modern-day Nepal, and raised in Kapilavastu.

✔His father was king ,Suddhodana, leader of the Shakya clan in what was the growing state of Kosala, and his mother was queen Maya.

✔He was raised by his mother's younger sister, Mahapajapati Gotami, after his mother died just seven days after childbirth.

✔His wife was Yashodhara and son is Rahula. Both Yashodhara and Rāhula later became disciples of Buddha.

✔He left his home at the age of 29, this was his Mahabhiniskramana.

✔At the age of 35, He obtained his enlightenment(nirvana) in Bodh Gaya(Uruvella) under a peepal tree near the bank of river Niranjana after 49 days of continuous meditation.

✔He gave his first sermon in Sarnath to his five disciples.This is known as Dharmachakra Pravartana.

✔The Pali text reports that after the first sermon, the ascetic Kondanna (Kaundinya) became the first arahant (liberated being) and the first Buddhist bhikkhu or monastic.
